Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

I ❤️ your videos. I grew up on a 120 acre farm. I'm going to be 70 and there hasn't been a day that goes by that I haven't missed the freedom that I experienced, the animals, homegrown and homemade food, the creek that flowed through it, and the treasures found. There was hard times and sad times too but I have never forgotten where I came from. It's been almost 50 years and that's why I enjoy your videos you take me "home". Overwintering is when most losses occur, even for experienced beekeepers. If you are new, and it freezes where you live, take a class this winter, and get your hives in spring. If you can, get two, never one. Just as easy to take care of, but flexibility to adapt if one is weaker or failing. Get in spring, build as strong as possible and then see how they do in your winter.
