Studying in Regional area in Australia has a lot of benefits. According to the recent changes, Apart from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane all the places in Australia are classified as Regional areas.

Almost half of the Australian population lives in either Melbourne or Sydney. To make regional areas more attractive for migrants ad international students, the government has come up with various benefits that can help international students obtain their permanent residency sooner.

From 16th November 2019, one of the major change is that those International students who study in regional area for two years, will be eligible for 3 years of post study work visa instead of two years.

International Students studying in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane which are not regional areas will be eligible for only two years of post study work visa i.e. subclass 485.

In this video Internash explains what are the pros and cons of studying in a regional area.

Nice video but you should've focused more on work part. Like for 3 years we need to work there. Job word includes both odd and white collar jobs.We international students are mostly interested in the white collar one's right after our 2 years education. It's quite obvious no one would like to drive taxi, work at restaurant for 3 years after completing Master's degree . Also after these rules don't you think many people will go regional and therefore more competition since there'll be more students but job openings will be same as before.

Please make a video on what if we study in regional and then couldn't find any job after our Master's education, what shall we do?

Points like diversity, knowing real Australia like from regional area doesn't even matter for many of the students.

Biggest advantage of Regional areas is you meet actual Australians and people from other countries other than the subcontinent. This helps you to broaden your thought processs and view of life. In the major cities, it's just too much saturated with people of our own cohort.

This is class, I’m a surfer and one of my selfish reasons for moving to Australia for study is to surf and to study marine biology, and regional areas have the better surf and are widely recognised for marine biology (eg the Gold Coast). And Ive never liked super crowded cities so it’s perfect for me

The Australian Government has announced extra 1 year post study work visa if you graduate from a regional University.
So For the extra 1 year post study visa, it is mentioned that

1. Eligibility will include international students who studied at a regional campus of a metropolitan university.

2. The additional post-study work arrangements will become available in 2021, and will require ongoing residence in a regional area.

Does it mean that after getting a degree from regional University like University of Wollongong, can you can work in any city like Sydney and stay in Wollongong and travel for work?

Nowhere it is mentioned that you have to work in regional area when you are in subclass 485.
Will you still get 1 year extension on Subclass 485 post study visa?

Hi! I like your posts. But please try to include details about Canberra, if you can, in your videos, when you are posting general information like this. You mentioned most of the other major cities in Australia, but those of us who are living in Canberra always get doubts if this information you give is applicable to us. Just a suggestion. Thank you.
