The rising star kicks off the day on CBS2, singing the national anthem before the start of the 4:30 a.m. newscast.

It is so refreshing to hear our National Anthem sung with such reverence and respect, something so many others willingly fail to do at so many sporting events.

I'm a Gulf War veteran that believes the United States flag is to be honored as your Mother - just because you disagree with her, doesn't mean you disrespect her. I stand for Her. I have a new 50-foot flagpole at my home. And during the raising of my new 10 x 50 foot U.S. flag, I will play this version of The Star Spangled Banner. 
THIS....is an inspiration to be heard, and shared. THANK YOU CBS Sunday Morning for introducing it to me...God Bless America...God Bless us ALL.

Im a 58 yr old male, veteran of the United StAtes Navy, i e traveled significantly throughout our country, ive heard many people of all ages and categories sing this beautiful anthem, But i have never heard anyone sing it so authentic and so beautiful. For most of my life, I have seen and heard different renditions of the National Anthem that began and ended a TV stations broadcast day that have been supplied by our nation's armed forces as well as the Mormon church. When TV stations went 24/7, there was no need to air The Star Spangled Banner until last year when Reina Ozby's rendition, accompanied by beautiful scenes of our nation started airing on broadcast outlets all over the country.

It is one of the best interpretations of our National Anthem and revives a lost tradition-the sign on. Every station in the country, regardless of ownership or network affiliation should play this every morning and when they leave the air if they don't broadcast the whole day. It's even better than Sandi Patti's version of the anthem that's been used by stations for years and it would be a great way to start the day.
