Everytime they think about trans people they think about someone who passed extremely poorly, think lumberjack in a dress, but quite often what they don't realize is that it's like forcing a lumberjack to walk into the women's restroom.

I showed my grandmother this video and she grew up in the 1940s. She's African American. We both are. She said as far as she's concerned this is just a new form of segregation because America needs someone to hate and being hateful towards black people isn't fashionable right now but being hateful towards trans people is. Especially if they're minority trans people. My 76-year-old grandmother said that. She grew up around drag queens because her and her sisters were part of a singing group, and she understands the difference now between trans people and drag queens because that was something she struggled with in the past. And upon coming into that understanding, she thinks this entire debate about who should be allowed to use the bathroom and where is absolutely awful. She said she'd rather use the bathroom with nothing but trans people for the rest of her life then use the bathroom with one "hateful asshole who thinks they have the right to know what genitalia you have and would vote against someone's ability to shit in public in peace." I couldn't agree with her more.

When she went topless outside of the dmv, she was arrested for indecent exposure despite men going topless in public all the time?

I've always thought about this. The fear is: "Oh no, a man PRETENDING to be a trans woman will come into a woman's bathroom to harass women!"

But if you force trans people to use the bathroom of their biological sex and some of those trans people are passing then the problem becomes: "Oh no, is this a trans person being forced to use a female restroom or is it a man PRETENDING to be a trans man being forced to use a female restroom!"
