How independent are the robots? The website talks about "degraded communications" between robot and operator--so they are not autonomous?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but, if you have to do all the thinking for the robot isn't the robot just a glorified RC ? Should the robot not be able to do as its told, go open the door, stop wait for next instruction, follow instructions, identify the vehicle, go to vehicle, get in the vehicle and drive to whatever gps location and stop and be able to walk and step and go through or over obstructions by figuring it out itself? Basically it's still a human controlling the robot so shouldn't it be called an advanced RC?

I can take audio dropping from time to time, but I can't accept that the audio is only on one side. It is as simple as one click on a button to fix the video before it gets posted, could it not have been done?
