1991 Toyota Land Cruiser Part 6 | Vermont Test Drive and Wish List

We take the 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser out into the woods of Vermont to see how it does in the water and mud of the Northeast before we add lockers and tires. We bought this truck sight unseen from Hemmings and drove it from Phoenix, Arizona, to Moab, Utah, and then to the Hemmings headquarters in Bennington, Vermont. Follow along as we turn this stocker into a capable 4x4.

A couple of suggestions: Definitely get some rock sliders!! You don't want to damage those rockers (both of you). You really don't need much to make it better. 35s are nice but 33s will get you anywhere and you won't have to regear and won't hit the MPG too badly (Always start with tires) and a nice 2" lift so you don't have to mess with caster correction (Dobinson's are very nice) . Really you can be set with that. The 94 engine is the 1fzj with a lot more power than the 91 so you have to take that into consideration.
