I would hope that Villeneuve's Messiah starts off with seeing 15-20 minutes of the galactic war, showing the climactic battle and Paul's army winning and then it jumps ahead 12 years to when he's been emperor for a long time and the tone shifts. I think this could help tie the three movies together, and would be very cool to see.

I diptych is 2 separate panels that make one full painting. A triptych is 3. So he’s saying the first 2 films go together as almost one big film. But messiah will feel not part of the first 2.

I do consider Dune parts 1 and 2 as one long movie. I am looking forward to Dune: Messiah and I wish that Denis was also doing Chidren of Dune.

As a fan of the book, I couldn't care less about the detailed accuracy with the book series. I love what, and how it was all was presented to us, personally. The director's interpretation and guidance, the detail in the production, the actor's individual portrayals and their interpretation of their characters. The entire group effort was well done, very entertaining IMO. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

It fine to feel Dune 1 & 2 are one big movie. Denis changed pauls time on arakis to just a few months afterall.
Ofc Denis will make changes to Messiah. Hes made a lot of big changes from books already.

Dune Messiah is in itself different from the original. The end of Part 2 set the stage for what we're gonna see Dune Messiah go. It's gonna be interesting to see how the public receives it. Denis did make a bit of an error there. Paul's story doesn't end with Messiah. His story arc ends at Children of Dune.
