In the final episode of The Labour Files – The Spying Game – Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit tells the sinister story of how The Labour Party used hacked data from a journalist to investigate their own members who were critical of the party. Despite questionable ethical and legal issues, and with the knowledge of the party’s leadership, the hacked emails were used as evidence to discipline Labour councillors and activists in a London borough. The Spy Games lifts the lid on underhand tactics inside the Labour Party to impose order on party rivals using stolen confidential data.

Hacking is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and becomes an offence under the Terrorism Act of 2000 if it fulfills the following criteria: "Designed to influence the government or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and Made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause." This hack seems to fulfill the criteria for criminal prosecution under both acts. Every person who knowingly receives data stolen in this way and uses it for a political purpose is a co-conspirator and equally guilty. All this before you even consider the GDPR and Data Protection Act which makes it a serious offence to collect personal data without consent and to pass it to a third party. All these people should be in the High Court (apparently some already are but on the wrong side of the bar). It is a disgrace that the DPP and Police have done nothing to press charges and an even bigger disgrace that some of those who are clearly guilty of criminal charges will be sitting in cabinet after the next election.

Many years after they abrogated Clause 4, I re-joined the Labour Party to vote for JC as party leader.  
This well-researched and presented series shows how scheming and corrupted Labour has now become, functioning as a prop for the proto-fascist leanings of British politics and its support of the UK's bankrupt economy.  
I was recently sent a reminder to renew my subscriptions and I cited these films as reason for them to go whistle for my money.

This series - the labour files- has been eye opening. From when these allegations started, I would try to explain the difference between antisemitism and antizionism to people when it came up in conversation. The behaviour of these people is abhorrent, and effectively, in itself, racist against Palestinians. This is proper journalism, sadly disappearing these days from BBC and ITV, and should be applauded. The silence in response to these programmes is deafening.
