Russia kills at least three children in missile strike on Ukraine's Lviv

Several people have died, including at least three children, after Russia pounded the west Ukrainian city of Lviv in a massive missile attack.

Several residential buildings were on fire after the devastating strike, while local schools have cancelled lessons for the day, Maksym Kozytskyi, the regional governor, said.

The attack, which injured 40 more, was so close to the Polish border that the country activated its aircraft for the third time in eight days.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant is not capable of restricting Russian President Vladimir Putin's contact with international partners.

"The global majority has a much broader vision of the prospects for international cooperation than the blinders set by the ICC, " Peskov told reporters.

This week, the Russian president visited Mongolia, a country that is one of the signatories of the Rome Statute under which it would be obliged to arrest Putin following the arrest warrant issued last year. The two presidents are said to have discussed bilateral ties and regional issues.
