The beauty of the tele is it’s a boat paddle with some electronics, no matter how fancy you try to make it. Forget spending a lot of money. Just get one with a neck that you like. Otherwise, just get any old tele, set it up really nice, swap the pickups if you want and you’re golden. No need to spend big on them.
