Good video. Have you every expanded more on this topic? I'd be curious to see something on non-ordinary hyper geometric functions or some other examples. I'm pretty sure a hyper geometric series is the most efficient method used for computing digits of pi. Not sure if it has any significance either (and I'm sure I'm not the first to think of it) but expanding this idea to working with Laurent or Puiseux series.

although, after watching it, i can't really say what exactly the "defense" for hypergeo function is. that it's a natural concept when dealing with series? that the normal functions are special cases of it?
