I love the way Ragnar smiles knowingly and then looks at the crowd to see if they're going to follow Floki in the chant. He almost seems disappointed that they do.

Brilliantly chilling scene. Though we see it from the Vikings' perspective, imagine being a Parisian in those days and hearing THIS just before dawn. It must have felt like the armies of Hell had arrived at the city gates.

Imagine being in that city. You hear the normal sounds of morning, the start of daily life, people waking up, the singing of birds --- except, there are no singing birds. They have felt the air of battle. Instead, you hear the rolling battle cries of Vikings outside your city wall.
