BEAM TUTORIAL #1- Analysis of Beam in SAP2000

-Modelling of beam in SAP2000

-How to choose unit in SAP2000 (REMEMBER TO CHOOSE REQUIRED UNIT OF MEASUREMENT IN THE BEGINNING OF MODELLING. YOU CAN USE IT AS FIRST STEP OF MODELLING. LATER CHANGING UNIT WILL NOT ACTUALLY CHANGE THE UNIT BUT CONVERT IT. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU ENTERED 4m AND CHANGE UNIT TO mm THEN YOU WON'T GET 4mm BUT YOU WOULD GET 4000mm. HOW EVER IF YOUR UNIT IN SAP IS METER (m) BUT YOU WANT TO ENTER IN MILIMETER (mm) THEN YOU CAN ENTER VALUES 4000mm THEN OUTPUT WOULD BE 4m.

-Drawing members in SAP2000 using Draw tool

-Assigning supports (hinge, roller, fixed support)

-Assigning/applying load (point load, distributed load, uniformly varying load/UVL/Trapezoidal laod)

-Relative distance and And absolute distance

-Analysis of Beam

-Viewing output of sap2000- Bending moment, shear force

-viewing deformed shape of beam

-deflection at different points of beam

-shear force, bending moment, deflection at all the points of beam

Thank you very much. You solve my confusion, when I model the beam with un even span. Initially I used beam model, but it gave a strange result. By using the GRID model you showed, it solved my problem. Good job
