Actually the iPhones don't support 30W charging so it automatically slows down to 20W that's why they're both the same speed
Edit: also even though the mag safe uses 20W adapter it only delivers 15W of power that's why it's considerably slower

IN YOUR CHART, MAKE THE FASTEST TIME GREEN SO ITS EASIER TO SEE WHICH ONE WAS FASTEST, GREAT VIDEO THOUGH...

22W is the highest supported speed for the iPhone 12. And then if you have the optimised battery setting enabled in settings, after 80% it will significantly ramp down the charging speed to help preserve the battery from degrading so fast.

This is the first video I’ve seen of this man but I am going to sub because I can tell he put a lot of effort into this video

IT SAYS THE CHARGE % ON THE LOCK SCREEN LOL

I’m actually glad you made this video. I was thinking of upgrading from my 18w charger but for a two minute difference it’s not worth it

Remember guys, the slower the charge generally means less heat generated, which means the battery will physically last longer. My battery is still on 100% battery health, pretty much always keep it in the 20%-80% range and always charge it through MagSafe.

Speed isn’t everything and I don’t know if it’s just your US chargers or what, but there’s no chance MagSafe in the UK charges that slowly…

Conclusion: don’t buy a MagSafe charger and 20w is the best value for what it offers

I heard that using apples 20W and thrid party 20W like Anker is huge difference. Apples doing something to make it faster and make you buy orginal charger

I think iPhone doesn't support 30W charging, so it throttled into 20W, which you might see the result between 20W and 30W were similar. Also, larger power means more heat and energy dissipated which is not as efficient as its lower power.

Your testing was very good, you gave us an insight which power adapter should be bought. For suggestion, you could create a chart for comparing your test result, as it would significantly help user to understand and determine which is better. 👍👍

I feel like the mag safe is more for when you have a nightstand next to your bed and can just set your phone on it when you go to sleep and wake up to 100% charge, I understand you can just plug in your phone to the lightning port but when your extremely tired, it's just 1 less step to do, and you can just set your phone on the mag safe charger.

Good video overall, and this is just a suggestion...I felt annoyed when you kept pulling down the notification centre to check the battery percentage. It's right there on the lock screen below the time.

4 hours to charge a phone. We are back in the Nokia days?

Does he know he can see the percentages on the front screen without unlocking the phone?

With MagSafe, you always have to flip the switch first before placing your iPhone on the puck.

This ensures maximum charging speed, as suggested by Apple
