Pyre - Never To Return (All Verses)

This is every verse of the Heralds' song for the Liberation Rites, describing all the Scribes and Triumvirates, edited together as seamlessly as possible. I did not repeat the shared refrains that every variation has, as I felt they would get repetitive. I used the order that is included in the "Black Mandolin" bonus album, which happens to be the order you encounter each Triumvirate in the game. With this limitation there ended up being a couple of rough transitions, but I think it still turned out great. Enjoy!

Originally from the Pyre soundtrack, composed by Darren Korb, with vocals by Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett.

Hearing all of the versions side by side like this, something clicked for me: if you look carefully at the lyrics, they tell you exactly why none of the Nightwings' opponents are worthy. The Accusers are meant to seek absolution, yet to be absolved in the religious sense, one must first acknowledge wrongs committed, something Lendel refuses to do. The Fate is tragic in that the Alpha-Chief valued the fearlessness and independence that allows one to challenge an unjust fate, yet Dalbert has accepted his lot, and his son would not be parted from him. The Dissidents are supposed to find community within the rites, but Barker is unapologetically individualistic in the most toxic sense. The Withdrawn are meant to be seekers of hidden knowledge, yet that purpose has been subsumed by worship of one who would see an end to all knowledge. The Pyrehearts are self-explanatory; Deluge is a caricature of cowardice. The Essence are charged to rise above worldly concerns, yet Tamitha is chained to an obsessive hatred. The core virtue of the Chastity is humility, yet they are led by someone like Tinderstauff. The Tempers personify power thoughtfully applied, rather than the brutes they became, a lesson Ignarius learned too late, and that wound up crushing his heart. And lastly, the Nightwings were intended as the final obstacle, the exemplars of worthiness. And Oralech turned them into a mockery; a pale imitation that stood in antithesis to the personal growth and enlightenment the rites were intended to foster. I applaud the subtle storytelling that went into the creation of these songs in all their colourful variations. Thank you for posting.

Listening to this I kind of realized that in reality you, the player, are the "final boss" for every other team.

Since the comment that detailed the lyrics was deleted I decided to repost them myself.

Accusers:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
The bold Accusers steadfast in their aims
Those loyal few who serve Golathanian's claim
Seek absolution in the pious flame!
Who shall rise again?
The hand of Gol brings justice to this place
To find redemption in the solemn race
To bare the burden of Golathanian's grace!
Who shall rise again?

Fate:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
For Many-Maned the Fate defend his claim
Jomuer the Fearless One cannot be tamed
His faithful three bring honor to the flame!
Who shall rise again?
With discipline, the order of the Mane
Preserve the glory of the Alpha's reign
Their perseverance shall not be in vain!
Who shall rise again?

Dissidents:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
The Dissadents stand firm against the flame
Conviction binds them in their common claim
Once disparate, in droves they are the same!
Who shall rise again?
Ha'ub who harbors those who've gone astray
Accursed One who guides them on their way
Shall see them home before the light of day!
Who shall rise again?

Withdrawn:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
Milithe the Molten sets her Pyre aflame
Her fearsome three seek knowledge for their claim
The Withdrawn shall find the truth or leave in shame!
Who shall rise again?
The Wild Witch, uncovers all concealed
Her devotees though struggle never yield
Til' all forbidden knowledge be revealed!
Who shall rise again?

Pyrehearts:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
The Pyrehearts find courage in the flame
The passion of the Sea Dominion's aim
To bring unto the Underking his claim!
Who shall rise again?
Beneath the blue, old Ores plots his stand
His mighty deeds are known across the land
He shall not rest til' victory's at hand!
Who shall rise again?

Essence:
By the Scibes, we gather in their names
The Blessed Born, Triesta lays her claim
For her grace the Essence fan the flames
And liberty shall be their only aim!
Who shall rise again?
These pious three shall wear no earthly chains
The virtue of their matriarch remains
To free them from this unforgiving plain!
Who shall rise again?

Chastity:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
Lu Sclorian, The Hundred Minds shall claim
The Chastity in faith uphold his aim
His humble three seek wisdom in the flame!
Who shall rise again?
The verses of the law have laid it plain
For Sclorian, the question there remains
The virtuous shall victory attain!
Who shall rise again?

Tempers:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
For Solium Murr, the Tempers lay his claim
The Horned King, repentant in his aim
To show his flock the mercy of the flame!
Who shall rise again?
The virtue that the Tempers must attain
The strong and gentle shall be both in-twain
And snuff the Pyre like a summer rain!
Who shall rise again?

Nightwings:
By the Scribes, we gather in their names
To face the Nightwings here before the flames
A common foe for all to prove their claim
Prevail for freedom or to fail in shame!
Who shall rise again?
The will to overcome shall urge us on
To brave injustice til' the stars have gone
The favor of the Scribes arrives at dawn!
Who shall rise again?

Who lights the way for the aimless?
Favor is for the true Scribe blessed
Exalted by the flame's ascent
Only the purest heart repents
Repent!
Stars above, below the Pyre's burn
Who shall remain, whose freedom shall be earned?
To fly this prison Never to Return
Never to Return
Never to Return
Never to Return

I love how after all the other Triumvirate versions of this song, with their own unique sounds, the Nightwings version is so much simpler and less extravagant. Like it's the base that all the other versions were built upon, and it's a somber, bittersweet affair.

Not only are the transitions basically perfect and seamless, but I literally did not realize that each version had the respective Triumvirate's own theme as a backing track until I heard this joined version, so you've really given me a new appreciation for the song!

That transition into the Dissident was fucking banger!

This is incredible. The transitions are perfect. I'll be using this in one of the final fights in my DND campaign because it suits the mood perfectly, so please never take this down!

I love how well they blended these verses into the final pyre as each triumvirate started winning.

There shouldhave been a version for the beyonders even if the lore contradicts it. Sandra's forbidden knowledge mix would had been great.

I have been listening to this for the last couple of months and I just wanted to thank you for this compilation.

Really good job on all of it. I noticed the transitions you mentioned replying to QuintessenceGaming, but only because you mentioned them! Dissidents and Essence are a couple of the most noteworthy additions to the main theme- it's inevitable that they would clash with the preceding themes a bit. They still sound good, and the transitions help to hype it up.

I listen to this all the time, and it is a little repetitive, but not too much for a fan of the game! This is awesome!

Thank you. Great idea and the execution is quality. This personalized ending song was the cherry on top that has it as one of my favorites of all time

In order: the Accusers, the Fate, the Dissidents, the Withdrawn, the Pyrehearts, the Essence, the Chastity, the Tempers, and the Nightwings. Correct?

Each modern triad is the parody of the old triad.

Accusers are not noble and lawful, Lendel is a corrupt police officer.
Not my finding, read it in a comment above, but the Fate is not bold enough to fight against fate, the old dog accepted his fate with his son.
In my opinion just like how the Dissidents were the parody of the other triads, that’s the joke here, they are the only triad LIKE the original triad.
When it comes to the withdrawn, I thought it was a religion vs knowledge thing, but this religion to the old tentacle god is a real one in this universe. It’s more like they are using knowledge to destroy the world and themselves, instead of stopping the old god. If the witch escapes, she blows herself up in a swamp.
The pyrehearts are cowardly instead of bold.
The essence harpies stood for freedom. They are not slaves or lazy, but they use this freedom for wrong: Terrorism. Instead of being free, they are slaves to someone else’s ideals.
Chastity is wisdom, yet the new guy is a pampered idiot.
The tempers are supposed to be dual: strong and gentle. They are only really strong nowadays.

Is it just me or this song reminds me of PvZ2's Ultimate Battle themes?
