This will make sense for people under a certain net worth. The reason is poor people don't have the access to Lombard lending. Any person that has over a $5 million net worth can put all their equities in either the stock market, treasury, any liquid assets, ETFs, in the bank will lend at a very low interest rate on that, that would be greater than 2% spread it'll be around 5 to 6% spread.
