Securities Transfer Act (Ontario, Canada)
Bill of exchange, promissory note
13. A bill of exchange or promissory note to which the Bills of Exchange Act (Canada) applies is not a security, but is a financial asset if it is held in a securities account. 2006, c. 8, s. 13.

“securities account” means an account to which a financial asset is or may be credited in accordance with an agreement under which the person maintaining the account undertakes to treat the person for whom the account is maintained as entitled to exercise the rights that constitute the financial asset; (“compte de titres”)

Under General Deposit the bank takes title to the credit, therefore no deposit per se. Whereas under Special deposit, title to the credit belongs to the maker of the note (Security/Financial Asset). Banks are stealing our credit and lending it to us. The Security precedes the Mortgage. Claim special deposit.
