Sprinkling salt on fruit isn't weird.  My parents are from the South and I think it's a southern thing too.  I sprinkle salt on various fruits, too.  I can't believe you're both in your late twenties...you both look younger.

Putting salt on fruit isn't weird. I'm from the South and my family does it with grapefruit, oranges, etc. We're African Americans so I don't think it's just a Haitian thing.
