The Ferrari 575 Superamerica was the Fastest Convertible in the world when it came out. Only 559 Ferrari 575 Superamerica were produced. The Ferrari 575 Superamerica was produced by Ferrari between 2005 and 2006. Designed to be a successor to the Ferrari 550 Barchetta. The 575 Superamerica was built on the platform of the 575M Maranello. The Superamerica was powered by a 5.75-liter V12 engine, which produced 540 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. It had a top speed of 199 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

One of the most unique features of the Ferrari 575 Superamerica was its "Revocromico" rotating roof system. The roof was made of electrochromic glass, which could be rotated at the press of a button to control the amount of light entering the cabin. The roof could be rotated 180 degrees and stored behind the seats, transforming the car from a coupe to a convertible in just 10 seconds. This was a world-first feature that allowed the driver to enjoy the sensation of open-air driving without compromising on the car's structural rigidity or aerodynamics.

The Ferrari 575 Superamerica was a great car because it combined the performance of a supercar with the comfort and practicality of a grand tourer. The car's V12 engine provided exhilarating acceleration and a top speed that put it among the fastest cars on the road. At the same time, the car's spacious cabin and comfortable seats made it an ideal choice for long-distance driving. The Superamerica was also a rare and exclusive car, with only 559 units produced. As a result, it has become a highly sought-after collector's item, prized for its unique features, stunning design, and exceptional performance.

Fantastic video, I think this top is fantastic and elegant in its simplicity, I just think there is something off about the 575 v 550 in the front end, the bumper looks too squared off and the headlights look slightly to pronounced. I really liked the 550, it’s the only Ferrari that looks best in silver not red.

This car also needs a manual transmission!!

Fantastic video!! The roof is so unique, I’m surprised other supercar manufacturers didn’t copy it.

Does nobody know about the roof being able to change tint with the turn of a knob. The Revochromico glass has a dial that you can turn and change the amount of light coming through it. This is by far one of the most unique features I have ever seen on a car ever. It can go from clear to dark tint all done with a digital control. And instead of her showing off something that is utterly revolutionary for its time we get a whole minute of her talking about how she doesn't know where the five in the name of the car comes from.

the curved shape of the flipping roof glass is truly a work of art

The extra 5, might be for 5 valves. The F355 was 3.5L, 5 Valves.

This is one of my all-time favorite cars. A front engine Ferrari V12 plus a trick convertible top? Wow, it’s amazing.

They are so choice with the roof off. In black it looks killer.

I believe that the 575 SuperAmerica designation is motor capacity ie.5.75liters . A funny quirk about this car is that if you're not attentive while the top is down and you get caught in the rain the inverted top fills with water quickly and when you raise the top it dumps all that water into the cockpit/onto your head! BTW nice outfit, black subscale accentuated with a tan overcoat topped with your black hairstyle, very elegant!

5, 748 cc rounds to 5750. Drop a zero= 575. That is how you get this model designation.

Thanks. The car still looks good. The '575' designation refers to the 5748cc engine displacement (according to Wiki).

Superb car! With a few tweaks 600 rear wheel horsepower, faster shifts, and a better sound is available!
Ferrari brand + front engine V12 + true convertible that actually keeps the weather out + limited production (559/170) = collectable million dollar Ferrari. Most are trading in the 300k - 400k range. What a bargain!

Very nice, Colleen! Italian car and motorcycle (even mopeds and scooters) manufacturers often name their machines based on how they sound in Italian!

Classic Superamerica had more power not because it was an upgrade over America, it was just a newer model, not a variant. 375 America had 4.5-litres and 410 Superamerica, 2 years later, had a 5-litre unit.

Regarding the price of options at Ferrari it is now crazier than ever. They know, they are now the ultimate most desirable luxury brand in the world but they overall know wealthy peoples are willing to pay the price and they take bigtime advantage of it. Piero Lardi Ferrai (Enzo's son) who owns 10% of Ferrari shares is now multi billionaire.
