UM ACTUALLY, this question is worded so strangely, because players “leave the island” for several reasons while *remaining in the game*. A player might leave the island after being sent to Exile Island, sent on a humanitarian reward journey (in the older seasons) or evacuated temporarily, as happened during one season when a massive hurricane hit the island.

Ok because I love survivor I need to point out a few more things wrong with the statement:

Um actually the second and sometimes third place players don’t get voted off they just don’t receive enough votes for them to win, as evidenced by their torch not getting snuffed.

Um actually you can also get removed from the island due to drawing the wrong rock without even receiving votes if players can’t agree on an outcome after a tie vote

Um actually in seasons 41 and 42 you could be removed from the game due to the do or die twist that meant picking the wrong box would eliminate you

Um actually, you also leave the island without being voted out as the *second* place player, since they don't reveal the winner until months later.

The same way I felt about these Hell’s Kitchen contestants, Sterling from season 13, Cody and Nikki from season 19, Jillian from season 8, Jennifer from season 9, Tennille from season 6, Jon and Anthony from season 11, Motto from season 18 and Steve from season 20.

Did they not consider game balance with the immunity idols?? It should probably be capped so there are always at least two to vote between, right? (I have never watched survivor but I can see why Jeff and others would be cross XD)

um actually you don’t have to lose or win to leave the island. in the finale, the final 2 leave the island before the winner is announced so they can do it live in the studio so they actually leave the island before they’ve actually won or lost

i know it’s a technicality but that’s what the show is all about

now technically the final 3 do leave the island before it’s clear which is the winner, so 2nd and 3rd place leave without meeting any of those conditions.

Um actually there’s another way- Terry Deitz was technically pulled from the game, but not due to breaking the rules. Probst came to the camp and told Terry that his son Danny had been hospitalized and that his wife and the doctor wanted him to come back, pulling him from the game

Um actually, you can also leave the island by losing a redemption island (or equivalent) challenge

Losing at fire making during tribal council

or faking appendicitis
