Clones are like shock troop in 40k. None of them stand a chance vs. the guass rifle. Necrons are basically over powered to robots with the souls of an alien race trapped inside.

A normal Necron solider can one shot a Space Marine with his gauss rifle. A gauss rifle disintegrates material into atoms. But at least clone troopers use ionized weapons and necrons are machines. The only problem is the reanimation protocol.

How do you compare things like the armor materials and destructive firepower of the weapons from the two different franchises? Honest question.

I was hoping the last trooper would kill the necron, only to see it rise again and melee the trooper to death.

If we take this from the lore perspective the clone troopers would not stand a chance. They need to bust out the heavy weapons to have a slight shot at downing one, until it stands back up.

Remember, the gauss cannon will peel off atoms layer by layer and the crater left in the blast is not so much a explosion but a whole chunk of matter that just got disintegrated into atomic cloud.
