Two iconic films. One year. One man. This is the epic tale of Steven Spielberg's experience making Jurassic Park and Schindler's List in the same year -- and the incredible obstacles he overcame. Told over a span of 14 years, the events include dinosaurs, war criminals, groundbreaking CGI, and maybe the most historic Oscars ever. It's a wild one.

Steven Spielberg is an iconic film director, responsible for creating the likes of E.T., Jaws, Indiana Jones, Saving Private Ryan, and of course -- Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. A box office giant, Spielberg has generated billions in theater revenue. But in 1994, he was yet to receive a single Oscar. Is this the year that changes?

He will forever remain a G for this. Filming both an entertainment film and a film detailing the most painful parts of history isn't something easy.

And to the 6 million who can't be watching this broadcast tonight of the 1 billion,

A truly classy man

Spielberg deserves the amount of respect he 100% deserves. Also I met him once and it’s so surreal.

16:21 “And to the 6 million who can’t be watching this among the 1 billion watching this telecast tonight.”

That line alone made me cry. I’m actually crying. And this is the first time I’ve genuinely cried watching something.

Also, 17:15 always makes me laugh lol

Great video man. At the end I teared up. Not because of Spielberg's dream coming true but for the realisation that, we have lost the very thing that made movies matter. We have lost this time when films meant something to people, it wasn't just a franchise industry that is only focused on making money. I lived in a time when films made life worth loving. Now we have lost ALL of that. Now all that remains is an empty shell of hollywood. We are truly lost.

A great showcase of how diverse Spielberg is as a storyteller. Schindler's List is a brutal experience which had me question "Did Spielberg really direct this?" Then he can go and do wholesome family and adventure films that bring out your imagination in a fun way.

Two movies in the same year that couldn't be more different. Goes to show how good a director he is

I never leave a comment, but man, this is my sixth time watching this and it always feels like the first: What an amazing video (brillinat !, excelent storytelling and research you deserve all the praise), but also, what a genius Steven Spielberg is. As a filmmaker myself, I look at this and I'm in complete awe of his talent and bravery this man will forevere be my GOAT. Movies change lives, and he is the living proof of that.

This is one of the best edited videos Ive seen in a while. It makes you feel like you're in the hot seat alongside Spielberg, so damn.

The editor of this documentary deserves a raise!

It's crazy to think that whatever the idea many of us have about dinosaurs today is majorly because of Jurassic park movie 🤯

Boy got me in tears by the end of this... I can't imagine how tumultuous this period must have been, and as someone currently studying the holocaust for a-level history, I have no idea how harrowing it would be to be at the actual sites, living a period in recent memory.

rosea.
