It’s not your hair, purple/blue shampoos are known to be drying. That is why it is recommended to not use them more than 1-2x a week. Kenra makes a great toning/brightening treatment/conditioner. It save me when I was lightening my hair!

Toning shampoos generally tend to make hair dry so following up with a good conditioner is helpful. To see the true effectiveness of a (purple/blue) toning shampoo is to leave it on 3-5 minutes. I then follow up with a bit of regular shampoo to make sure there are no residual purple tones left.
