I completely understand the 9-5 rat race cycle, however I think this video makes a lot of assumptions! As a social worker I work 9-5 for someone else but I love my job so much and I’m always so excited to work and speak with my clients and colleagues. I love the experiences and the positive impact I have on people’s lives. I’m really good with finances so I save a large portion of my income, I live minimally and I invest the money I do have! I spend my free time meditating, exercising, visiting family. I don’t have social media and I don’t have TV. I consume content that I enjoy on YouTube and Gaia. Anyways I suppose my point is this video makes a lot of assumptions about people’s live! Not everyone lives in this little bubble of consciousness and allows themselves to be programmed :)

This is such a good summary of the failure of our capitalistic system. Unfortunately many people still live in complete ignorance about how we have ruined the whole basis of our existence by not questioning and changing our attitudes towards nature and our own lifestyle.
When I had started to change my lifestyle a few years ago by living according to principles of sustainability and becoming a climate activist, some people had laughed at me asking “What can YOU change as a single person? You are crazy, you cannot safe the world!”’ But I’m pretty convinced that each one of us can contribute to saving our planet if we wake up. If everybody pretends that each one of us cannot achieve anything, then of course our planet cannot be saved. We can only slow down the process of destroying nature and our existence if each one of us takes over responsibility. It’s time that we wake up and act. Each one of you can do it!

I was fortunate and followed the path of study and work in prehistory science that I alway enjoyed from a youngster. I wish I had a dollar for every time I was told by someone that "I wished I pursued your field of work". Regardless of how glorious it may seem to others it difficult, demanding and most of the time dealing with people. The old saying is "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence". Dont get me wrong I appreciate my path I chose but success in any field requires inspiration and perspiration.

As someone who gardens, uses a rain barrel, composts, recycles, repairs, donates, buys used items (when applicable), works out, and does not use Facebook/Instagram/Twitter I agree with this video.
