Excellent video thank you and it’s the first time I’ve been able to hear you clearly throughout the whole video as I noticed you finally got a lavalier mic! bravo!

Thanks for the video. I've been doing this process for a while now. It was rad to see your process and the details. Much appreciated !

Thanks for making the video. Based on what zerofriction says, it's best to soak in turps/degreaser for 15mins. Then repeat with the turpentine/degreaser 2 times but this time don't soak, just agitate for 2mins. Right now your chains are coming out of dirty degreaser and going straight into wax. Also your chains are sharing the grime of 10 chains in one bath, so even worse! The above process will get the chains completely clean through 3 cycles. After the degreaser you should use a denatured alcohol like methylated spirits a couple of times till the liquid is clear and to get the residue of degreaser off the chain so the wax bonds properly. Appreciate your video though

I use an ultrasonic cleaning tank with a dilution of 20% Ardrox 6333 ( I work for Rolls Royce Aero Engine co) the rest hot water then clean for another 20 minutes ultrasonically in clean hot water. The chain looks like jewellery!
If you can get hold of Adrox 6333 get some. It’s the very best for cleaning nimonic/ titanium/ stainless.

Best video I’ve seen on the topic! Great tips!

If you hang the chain from one end whilst it is still dripping hot you can use a cloth to wipe the excess wax off it. It leaves the exterior of the chain clean but all the bearing surfaces are coated.

Great vid, I love the cleanliness of wax (and low friction of course) and been waxing ever since I tried it. How does tungsten disulfide compare to PTFE in your opinion?

Great video! As someone who lives in a small apartment and doesn't race, I'm fine with some Squirt lube; but the products discussed and the insight given is very useful regardless.

Great vid…Worth pointing out installing the chain that the Shimano chains are directional as the plates are different inside and outside…the Shimano logo should be on the outside…

I want to wax 3 chains to be more efficient. But what do you do when it's raining the whole week? I know, I should swap the chain for a freshly waxed one after a workout in the rain. But can I just dry the one which I used and leave it till the other two chains will also be used in the rain (during the same week)? I've read you should waxed the chain the same day or day after, but it would be a lot of work to melt the wax after each ride. It's raining a lot at the moment and I do some workouts outdoor nevertheless (and rest indoor). Thank you for your thoughts!

Great video! For re-waxing, what process do you go through to clean the chain or do you just wipe down and stick back in the wax after 300/400km?

Really helpful video, couple of questions though, is there a recommended amount of MSW you need to melt down to be able to wax multiple chains, or is it just a matter of making sure they are submerged fully in wax?.
Lastly, once you've melted the wax and waxed the chains must you get rid of this "contaminated" wax or can you reuse?
Thanks

Really helpful video. But (maybe it's just me) didn't seen when and how you used the brake cleaner spray?
And one more question: do you recommend this "lubing" method for MTBs? Have you heard it's efficient there as well?
Thank you!

Hey, MSW recommends to heat their wax up to 93 C degrees, I use a meat thermometer to make sure the pot reached the optimal temperature. Do you think it is important/necessary, do you monitor the temperature?

Great Video!! loved how thorough it was and described every step. Do you recommend to use race powder for everyday use as well?

Great channel and video thank you ! There is a technique where the wax dissolves in gasoline. The chain is then bathed in this solution, the gasoline is evaporated and a layer of wax remains on chain. Have you any experiences with this type of waxing?

Great video Ronald, thanks.
Q- did you use the entire bag of wax? Looks like you used only half. I will be waxing 4 chains today with the silca secret hot melt wax. Do you recommend I use the whole bag?
