Rule no.1. Don’t think that you have to visit all the tourist hot spots. If you have only a few days then just using the London Eye for instance (which is 90% tourists) watching Changing of the Guard (100% tourists) or hanging around Piccadilly Circus (99% tourists) can easily be skipped for walking the real city. London is enormous and while there are many areas not of interest there are also many that are not overwhelmed by visitors and give a better idea of the city.

One tip i think is to download and be aware of the tfl tube map that shows walking times between central tube stops as quite often if you are travelling just one or two stops its as quick to walk and you see more of London

Great info.
I would start that walk from the Tower Bridge tube station ( Take the tube, Circle & District lines stop at Tower Hill…) when you exit the station, you have the Tower of London straight in front of you.
You can stop there, have a wander.
Later cross the bridge heading for the South Bank, in direction to Borough market, Southwark cathedral, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, The Tate Modern ( stop here for a drink with spectacular views from the coffee shop inside the museum…) cross the Millenium bridge to see St.Paul’s..
But return to the South bank and continue walking towards the London Eye. Usually, lots happening in front of the Southbank theatre.
Continue to the London Eye. A tourist trap! You will see the Westminster bridge, cross it for Big Ben then head for Whitehall which will take to Trafalgar Square.
From here, head towards The Strand. Walk until Southampton street which is on the left hand side.
This will take you to London’s Covent Garden where you have everything at your disposal for families and single people as well as couples.
From here you have the Tube to get home ( Piccadilly Line ) or you can walk towards Leicester square and then on to Piccadilly Circus to end your day’s walk.
Best of all, it is absolute FREE to do!!!

This is well done and I would say fairly accurate. Well done. Though the Elizabeth line is not more expensive than the tube! Always recommend that as the best travel, unless you are staying somewhere close to a Piccadilly line tube stop.
