in windows explorer, when I go to properties I cannot click on the box to enter artist or album name, it is blank but I cannot edit it. why is that?

What if the media details like title contributing artist don't appear in the file is there a way to fix it to where it shows everything as needed

I normally just put a CD in my wmp to rip and it finds the track info automatically but with some it wunt do it so I go over to the unknown album right click and go to update album info but its not doing anything

I saw no info on how to change the Title coz it let's you change the 'name' but I'm finding (MUCH TO MY %&$#@*& FRUSTRATION) that there is a world of difference between a song's 'title', its 'name' & its 'filename'.
Now itunes lets you change the 'name' but not the 'title' & I'm finding that when I go to properties through Windows, the 'title' won't edit even though the song is NOT read-only.
WHAT THE HELL, MAN???
Even when I physically move all my songs off my mp3 player, change whatever I can on the computer, when I reload the songs back onto the player, some of the media info goes back to its old data.
Where is it getting this data from & how do I get to THAT?
