The 'Big Angle' sticking out... I've got exactly the same set up and so I machined a hole in it big enough to fit the tool post when the tool carrier is removed. I then made up a pipe washer with a large circle base on it which presses down on the Angle just as is happening when you tighten the tool post. That removes any kind of leverage affect on the tool post.
