WWE Cancels 205 Live, New Show Launching This Week | ROH Talent Making NXT Debut

WWE has officially cancelled 205 Live with a new show based around NXT launching in its place this week. An ROH talent will be making their WWE debut on the new show this Friday. Plus a top WWE Raw star is making their in-ring NXT return next week

Gonna mourn 205 Live. The first wrestling show I ever watched was the 2017 Rumble and PACs win against Swann was my favorite match of the night. So I was the weirdo who didn't watch RAW or SD but watched every 205 live for a year. As such, PACs run as cruiserweight champion is forever etched into my memory. Still not over how they made him job to Enzo though.

I tuned back into 205 after Triple H announced Drake Maverick as GM. From then until the summer or autumn of that year, it was appointment viewing, lemme tell ya. Ali, Muphy, Kendrick before we knew he was cocoa puffs, Cedric and my personal favorite, Drew Gulak made it just so unmissable. And then they crowned Enzo.

Sad 😞 I loved 205 Live - Drew Gulak and his PowerPoint presentations, Buddy Murphy, Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali, Drake Maverick, Tony Nese 💔I loved when Austin Aries did commentary and his advice to wrestlers was always to just poke the other guy in the eye. Nigel and Aiden were also great commentators! I really hope fans go back and watch the show since there’s so much gold there.

205 live getting cancelled was a long time coming honestly surprised that they kept it going for as long as they did.

It's probably for the best for everyone involved that they finally out 205Live out of its misery. They should have shut it down once they lost the Cruiserweight Title. Hopefully they'll promote the new show better so people might actually watch it.

I'll always stand by the fact that 205 Live was the best thing about weekly WWE in 2018. As good as NXT was back then, week by week 205 Live consistently matched or beat it out. The LHP/Nese & Murphy tag match is a bona fide classic

I remember when the WWE wanted the Elite they offered them contracts that had an option to leave after 6 months. Maybe Cody gets one of those in order to help complete his heel turn in AEW. Returns, attacks champion and is billed as a turn coat/invader.

I feel for Sam. 205 Live was so freakin good when guys like PAC, Murphy, Ali, Cedric, Gulak, Nese, LHP, Tozawa really made it a can't miss show with the matches they were putting on.

205 Live was basically being used as a Main Event type show for NXT anyways (I saw a recent clip of Odyssey Jones on there once and last time I checked, he didn’t fit the cruiserweight criteria lol).
