You shouldn't fault the brakes for wearing out because they are a consumable item just like oil and your clutch

The wagon R is actually one of the most interesting cars of the last 20 years. It is the best selling kei car and the only one to be internationally renowned, It had mazda, vauxhall and chevrotet spinnoffs. It achieved what the smart car only pretended to. The ironic facetious review is fairly entertaining but you could take it seriously and have a full documentary on this thing <3

@Car Throttle
We used to have a blue 1.3i manual WagonR+
The car did city driving around 38mpg and motorway it dropped to 32mpg and this when going 70mph+

I generally think, it was good, fun, comfortable car.
We did a house move in it and also used it like a van.

Sold it begin of this year, and after nearly 3 years owning it, everytime I see one on the roads, I just get a smile.
Good, it wasn't as fast as my NB, or not as comfortable as my 407, but we traveled with it from Skye to London and back.
It brought us to Liverpool, Wales and did some other road trips with it.

So, as a car enthusiast, it's not a sports car, but for what it is/was, they kind of brilliant.

We sold the Turdis, but she will be always in our memories.

I'd rather take the bus than be seen in that thing. Naaa joke. A car, no matter how bad it is, is always better than the bus.

In India its the favorite vehicle for the middle class and since its tall, roomy and its door open by 90 degree most old peope love it
Even though its only 1ltr engine suzuki manages to sell about 15k per month in India

I’ve just bought one of these - a manual - and I feel this car deserves a bit of defence. It’s so, so close to being a work of genius and was years ahead of its time. Not much larger than a Fiat 500 in terms of the size of it but much taller so not only is it great for around the city, even in the busiest of areas. The gearing is so short that it is well set up for in town driving too and despite the blender motor in place of an engine, it feels nippy around town. It’s surprisingly spacious too.

The looks are…divisive (I have MX-5 alloys that have been painted white on mine), as soon as you go over 55mph the engine has to work overtime and the little refinement it has goes out of the window.

A nicer interior, an extra 15bhp allowing for longer gear ratios and you’ve got a brilliant city car that can be used elsewhere. It’s a brilliant concept that’s just a little flawed in its execution.

I tried a 5 speed manual one, and it didn't feel that slow. Wonder if I could fit a rotary in it...

What if I tell you, (Maruti) Suzuki Wagon R still sells 16K units a month in India with a 1 litre Petrol engine with 67 bhp n 91 NM of Torque.
Its like the Ultra Budget G-Wagon of Hatchbacks 🤣

The Swagon is a staple on this channel, much like Phil. How dare Ethan even consider selling it.

I've got one, it's a 1.3l 5 speed manual, I've fitted it with a stainless steel exhaust and an Aisin AMR500 Roots type blower and it's a beast !!!

It's light, handling is poor but predictable... once you get used to it's vague electric steering and the global sponginess of the car (body, suspension, brakes...) once you start pushing it...

Soft tires cures easely the horrid oversteer issue ;-)

One could think it's easy to roll it, but trust me i've tried several times and it didn't (only two of the 4 wheels got air) !

And when the back seats are folded down you can put a 70's 50cc motorbike in the back, close the boot and still be able to fit two fully grown adults in the front seats !

Don't get me wrong it's not by any means a great car, but a cheap and cheerful one for sure :)

I had a Wagon R which I drove daily for seven years, and put 80, 000 miles on it. Apart from consumables like tyres and brake pads, the only thing that went "wrong" were the rear wheel bearings, which needed replacing after I drove through a deep ford (over wheel hub height) and water got into the bearings and ruined them. Certainly not a cool or stylish car, but good heavens it was useful as a load

Comfortable seating for older people. Easy in the city. Takes 5, reliable. For latest technology, buy a smart phone.

Dude ! Atleast you have a 1.3L engine, and here in India we have only 1.0 L option !!!! Just imagine .
