The life of René Descartes:
A documentary overlooking the life of the philosopher René Descartes. Cogito Ergo Sum is probably the most famous philosophy quote in history. Descartes was not just a great philosopher, but a scientist as well. So I've been traveling in his footsteps to show you the places where he lived studied and worked. We visits places such as Paris, Amsterdam and La Haye, which is now named Descartes in his honor. Hope you'll enjoy this episode, it's been a pleasure making it.

The World

Pinpointing the important parts of René Descartes first major work: The World, which he himself never published because of his fear of the catholic church, for in it, Descartes argues in favor of a heliocentric worldview which made Galileo suffer.
Does Vacuum exist? What is Animal Spirits? All this is answered in this episode! most of it was Filmed in the village where Descartes was born.

Discourse on Method

"I think, therefore I am" Is probably the most famous quote in the history of western philosophy. And in this episode I glance over René Descartes book: "Discourse on Method" which contains this famous saying.

I discuss whether Descartes was a scientist or a philosopher, how Descartes arrived at the cogito, and the existence of God.

In Descartes' book: Meditations on a First Philosophy , he continued his search for the foundation of all knowledge. I Discuss the difference between Mind and Matter, the proof of Gods existence and the logic of the cogito.

Dude this video is literally A-tier. I can't believe this is available for free. I saw your videos on Kierkegaard and subscribed, but this is next level. This is like Veritasium for philosophy. So stoked to see where you head in the future!
