"The original and best". Here I have in my collection four (2 have a fair amount of use on them) Philips SL* Prismatic CFL lamps, with magnetic ballast and glowbottle starter.

Featured are a later "white base" 25W made in Poland, a 25W earlier "white base" made in Holland, an 18W white base made in Holland and a reasonably early (1985) "black base" pretty much NOS 18W, which has only had a few hours use by me.

This lamp is my childhood. Every lamp in my house in 1999 is the exact same type (18W), that blinks at startup, except the color is 6000K (cool white) instead of warm white shown in this video

Beautiful! I scored one today from the local rubbish dump shop, 9 watt Philips still in box. Box has been in the weather but the lamp still works!

Ive got 14 of these. 2x9w 8x18w 4x25w white base models with 6x of the 18w ones being the more 'slim' version. all still work well although I only use two and keep the rest as spares.... but they just keep going!

I think that these made in Poland would last for 30 years or longer like most of things from Poland. (from that time)
