For those who don’t know how much this means to philly fans, my local town just literally ran out of their houses and screamed and celebrated. We’re only a town of around 1, 000-3, 000. My whole family cried. Philly is impossible to navigate by car right now because every square foot is covered by people. I’ve never cried such tears of joy.

Been an Eagles fan since birth. I remember all the disappointment in my parents friends in 1980. Some rough years till Buddy Ryan, and then eventually Andy Reid era.... in 2004 I was 32, single and threw what would have been the best superbowl party ever... Tvs in every room (including bathroom) bonfire, drinks and food and my best friends since grade school... unfortunately the party was cut short when we lost to that Crumb Belicheck and the Pats.. I remember passing out on my couch in Philly and feeling like death on Monday morning.... a few more up and down seasons and now its 2017... somehow between superbowls I'm now recently divorced with 4 kids... not a highpoint in life, but the Birds had a newer young coach and a Franchise qb.. when Elliot kicked the 62 yard fg early in the season to beat the stinking giants, you knew something special was happening. Even when Wentz went down, very few philadephians lost faith... we had Saint Nick, who looked like Tom Petty and spoke like Jesus... both superstars in their own right. Superbowl Sunday comes, and I got the same group of friends getting together. (Although coming from different states now) I hosted the pre superbowl brunch in my now modest... post divorce home. I remember going to Acme Sunday morning to pick up stuff. The air outside was absolutely electric, Acme mobbed, everyone in green, singing philly fight song. IT Was Sunny and really crisp. Driving back from Acme with the window down, all was good in the world. We watched the superbowl, at my buddies uncles house. My best friends for 35 years...and our children. The game was finally starting and there's Belicheck and Brady on screen.... A metaphor and reminder for every obstacle and hardship that beats you down in life - getting beat again would be a tough one. When Legarrett busted that first big run, I went nuts, and from that moment on, I felt a calm sense of confidence.. . When the final ball dropped, I saw tears in my friends eyes. I was hugging my 11 and 17 year old sons, and was so happy that they didn't have to wait 40 years for their team to win, and happy that they got to witness (arguably) the best superbowl ever. For months afterwards. Everyone had a little more pep in their step, anything seemed a little more possible, and the city was united... Parade was amazing, kids got to high five players. It was truly a remarkable season, which will not be forgotten... hence watching highlights on the anniversary.

Ps.. Belicheck is still a crumb but I've made peace with Brady.
