As a embassador for Sacramento having grown up in the Suburb of Roseville / Citrus Hieghts and being the #1 prince of the King General Jerry Lee of the famous Roseville Castle and having worked at the World famous Shire Road Pub as a Bouncer I watched City Kid become TESLA. and I've seen every Great Band come through Sac Town. But John nWaite was no disapointment. He and his band are allways Welcome!

1st this is a great rendition! 2nd why should an artist be bound by what they put on cd 30 years ago? so no acousitc version... no extra guitar, bass, drum, can't add syntesizer... how far should we that argument? really?
obviously, ur not a dylan fan.... he's never done one of his songs the same way twice.
get over it. enjoy john waite for what he brings to his shows... and his attempt to keep it fresh and enjoyable for him as well, moreover, celebrate that originality/inventiveness... 'cause that's what delivered the 'tune to you in the first place. keep it in mind when you see him next year... and the show is different & even better than the one you saw the year before!

Crazy how they slow down the tempo and change the arrangement but this still kicks ass. Sounds incredible. Better than The Babys band with back up singers

JW may have performed this song live a thousand times, and perhaps by the 666th time he said, "To hell with this. We're gonna' go disco, " or "F this! Let's do the 'New Vaudeville Band' version, with a megaphone and everything!" In any case, it's interesting to hear an artist performing a different interpretation of a song than what we are accustomed to hearing on recordings. I remember first seeing Black Sabbath live (before Ozzy left the first time) and being amazed at him performing in lower keys than on the record. However, looking back at his range (and Waite's) from each's "heyday, " I am amazed at how either vocalist had the vocal power in the first place!

I hate it when an artist sings thier songs completely different than the record and John is very guilty of it. He butchers his own songs. i would rather stay home and listen to my Babys CDs. They were a killer band.
