HISTORY:
This exclusive video footage will cover the stomping grounds of the former Rush Copley Medical Center on Lincoln Avenue in Aurora, IL. The hospital in question was built in stages between 1888 and 1970, It originally opened as the "Aurora City Hospital" and much like today's hospitals, there was an ER, Triage area, Behavioral Health, etc. The hospital closed down in 1995 when Rush Copley built their new facility on US 34/30 on Aurora's far southeast side, which was completed in 2002. The hospital was purchased in 2007 by Raghuveer P. Nayak and Anita R. Nayak for $1.2 million, though, the Nayaks have severely neglected the property, and has deteriorated significantly worse in the last 5 years. More than 20 years later, the hospital still stands strong with many windows broken out, and graffiti covering the bases of the building.

CURRENTLY:

As of September 2018. Per the word of one of my urbexing buddies. The COA has begun demolition of Copley. At this point, the hospital will likely be inaccessible but enter at your own risk

Aurora, Illinois

Lmao... I've been there nearly 30 times, that boat wasnt there last year. Nice Vid. If you go back there, I"d recomend wearing a respirator, the place is full of asbestos, and black mold

whatd you use when you explored the hospital? as in whatd you bring to the hospital to avoid asbestos and being seen?
