I am trying to learn German by myself and I have asked ChatGPT on various occasion to check the grammar in sentences that I have tried to translate into German. So far pretty helpful. I have also asked it the meaning of various German idioms that I have run across and did not fully understand.

Another type with ChatGPT is to ask it what is the difference between two sentences in German that essentially say the same thing and you can go further and ask which of the two sentences a German would most likely use

I gave ChatGPT a bunch of German words with their gender, and asked it to create a story to help me memorise the gender of those words. It gave me a whole load of nonsense that not only gave incorrect articles for the nouns a lot of times, but the story itself made absolutely no sense.

ChatGPT is pretty good, but don't ask it to solve your math problems. It is pretty good at writing programs in a number of languages however
