I use smart narrative in my reports to create dynamic text field. I created 2 values called "Minimum date" and "Maximum date" and then typed "Report date range is VALUE1 - VALUE2." and it automatically changes when date/week/year slicers are used.

Is there a way to display the actual slicer value instead of the actual table value? what's happening there is if you use the 'between' style with the use of MIN and MAX, it will display the minimum and maximum date value filtered on the table not from the slicer. For example, my start date from the slicer is 02/15/2024 and end date is 02/28/2024. The minimum date value available on the table is 02/17/2024 and maximum date value available is 02/27/2024. So the dynamic text will display is "From: 02/17/2024, To: 02/27/2024".

So I have a table containing user creation date, first access date and last login date; and I want to have a calendar slicer that filter different charts that is using the above date columns. I added a calendar table but it only let me add 1 active relationship.

The date slicer has been updated to a new version in a recent Power BI Desktop release. The new date slicer version allows manual entry or it allows you to pick from the calendar drop down.

Now, if you open a new (blank) report with a recent Power BI Desktop version and you add a date slicer to it, the slicer will work as described above (the most recent version of the date slicer will be added).

However, if you open an existing report (originally created with an old Power BI Desktop release) and you add a date slicer to it, the slicer will not work as described above (the old date slicer version will be added to the report). It will not work even if you open the existing report with the most recent Power BI Desktop release.

Is it possible to update date slicers created with old Power BI Desktop releases to the newest date slicer version?

Hi, Can you help me with one Scenario.
I have a power Bi dashboard on which there is two single select slicers, Category and Subcategory.

Subcategory slicers depends upon Category slicers, so when user select "Finance" in Category slicers, Subcateogy slicers value should reflect for Finance - subcategories, but when user select "Capital" in Category slicer, Subcategory slicer doesn't change automatically, user has to explicitly change the Subcateogy slicer.
Can you help me to overcome this problem?

Hi! I have an issue with Power Bi report server. I manager to use Calculation groups in power bi web, but when i did same for Report Server, i am getting null values for max_date. For example, for 15th of December it must be 1000 but it shows blank(). May be there are some constraints?
