Those at highest risk for meningococcal disease are teens and young adults. Meningococcal disease is a very serious bacterial infection where death can occur in as little as a few hours. Meningococcal vaccination can help protect one against various different strains of Neisseria meningitidis. There are two types of meningococcal vaccines licensed:
1. Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY) vaccines; such as Menactra, Menveo, and MenQuadfi
2. Serogroup B meningococcal (MenB) vaccines; such as Bexsero and Trumenba
