The "I miss you" thrown into the end of smiles and tears never ever fails to mess me up

I barely experiences earthbound at the age of 12, but through all my time of playing it, it has been the most emotional rollercoaster of my life nothing has made me feel as happy or sad as earthbound did, how the characters actually felt human, they laughed, they cried, they made mistakes, and although it was an snes game you could still feel as if the characters were actually conversating with you, and that you were the character, you felt ness's emotions. Personally nothing traumatic has happened in my life so far, but this game helped me release some of my emotions, as I suffer from depression, low self esteem, and ADHD which has ruined a lot of big parts in my life, but earthbound helped me find myself deep inside, it tought me that its okay to feel emotions, and that life is full of wonders, and that shouldnt stop me from experiencing them, and I hope everyone finds something for themselves in this masterpiece.

I just finished Earthbound for the third time recently, I know many people won't see this, but I just want to share why this game has one of the best soundtracks out there.

Many of the music tracks in Earthbound just sound so... human, they sound like something that a person put love, care, and happiness into. That's what make them so good, they just sound on a another level, they feel like you can relate to them down to your soul somehow, they feel like they are somehow cleansing your heart and clearing your mind. (which fits with the game's theme)

This game in general just feels so touchy, and the music perfectly captures that. That is why it is one of my favourite games of all time.

My tiny poem about how Earthbound makes me feel:
I wake up one morning to this song in my head.
"What a beautiful day and what a comfortable bed!"
I've been feeling so lost, but today I feel found.
Just like when I'd play my favorite game: Earthbound.

all these comments are so wholesome and wonderful. I’m in my cozy bed right now at 2:45 am listening to this. it’s wonderful seeing how much effect this game has, bringing us other great games such as Undertale and Deltarune. Wherever you are, I hope you have a great day. Stay determined!

I love the fact that this is in chronological order. So I can experience the whole journey again while falling asleep. Just missing Magicant Version 2, The Heroes Return and the Sea of Eden a bit, loved those as well.

It is incredible what these composers could create with such limited sounds systems. You can feel such a wide range of tones, emotions, and ideas listening to these tracks here. And I have never even played this series!

R.I.P. Buzz Buzz. Maybe a bug, perhaps an alien, but without a doubt you were a hero.

50:55 When Ness becomes aligned with the Earth's power... are these the sounds of a heartbeat that I hear in the background? I had never noticed it before.

I'm 42. My mom bought this game for me for Xmas the year I turned 13 - she thought I would like a game about a kid the same age as me. I do an annual playthrough, but sometimes I enjoy it so much I do two in a row. So I've been through the whole story 30+ times. Crazy to think about. The music is so incredible and never gets old. Thanks for putting this together.

This game changed my world view as a child, fr. I remember it coming out, my buddy had just got a VHS preview of Mario 64 and Final Fantasy 7 on a demo disc. It was a surreal time and he called me up asking, "you ever played an RPG before?" ---- I had never heard of it so I came over, the first thing he shows me is Ness in Onett getting a hamburger out of a garbage can.... I immediately ran to Kmart and begged my mom to buy it, I was 9 years old and she fought me over it but inevitably caved... the game became a currency between friends and eventually I had traded it away for a PSX and 1 controller / memory card.

To this day, we all talk about that and the game itself is forever a part of me... that's just the surface level, I didn't even scratch why I love the game.... It's strange because for a really long time, no one would even mention Earthbound but now it's huge and I'm so thankful, it truly deserves it with it's powerful message, amazing story and top tier characters/dialog.

Emerging from your home the morning after the long and intense night that is the prologue of this game, the sun rising and the Onette theme song beginning was an absolutely life changing moment for anyone that played this game as a kid.
