16000 Hz 16 kHz Sine Wave Sound Frequency Tone

YouTube's stupid compression takes out anything above 16 kHz, so if you are hearing nothing at all, change the video quality to 720p.

I'm 39 and I can hear it irritatingly loud. Thanks to being an anti-social shut-in who never attended loud concerts or parties growing up, I have exceptionally good hearing for my age.
Any time you go to concerts or use power tools, always wear hearing protection!

I got Tinnitus in both ears so constant ringing non stop 24/7/365 for the past 20 years, I'm almost 43 now. I can hear this no problem over the Tinnitus ringing. It's kinda weird but my Tinnitus is just a higher pitch. I still don't understand why I haven't gone full crazy yet with Tinnitus but holy shit, it drives me crazy.

I experience the same thing, that it is loud at the beginning but weak later. I think it is because my ear and brain get used to it after 5 seconds or so. If I remove my headphone and put it back on while the audio is playing, I can hear it clearly again but just for another couple of seconds.
Edit: after I crank up the volume to 50% in windows, I can hear it all the time. Giving me a headache. This is real 16kHz audio.

The compression is cutting off all the frequencies above 15734 Hz...

I just hear it at the beginning and then it's gone after less than a second

I can hear 16 kHz, but I couldn't hear this. Then I confirmed with an SPL meter that there's nothing there. Either it was filtered out by YouTube's transcoding (even at the 720p rendition) or this is a troll post.

I turned my computer up to full volume and was able to hear it.

Yeah put it on youtube. I think this really makes it really worth. Plus this isn't a siomple sine wave.

Youtube compressess all sounds above 13kHz and above 16kHz are barely unhearable. Its because youtube videos all are mp4 packaged.

I have to turn it up to hear it, but I can.

It has nothing to do with the headphones you use. I can't even hear it on high quality studio headphones. Most people under 30 should be able to hear 16 kHz. You just can't hear it because of the way that YouTube compresses sound.

Some people say that they can hear 19000 Hz on YouTube... Yeah, no

I hear high pitched sound on all video quality settings, although it might seem "dirtier" at lower quality setting.

My speakers are still good.
And so are my ears.
.... Though, my volume isn't set to be very loud, so it only sounds like an annoyance.
