How to Generate Multiple Reports from One Pivot Table

Most people who use Excel Pivot Tables know how to change the design of the reporty. However, in my experience, most people do not know how to create multiple reports - each on a separate worksheet - from a single Pivot Table.

You can do this with just a few mouse clicks if - you have at least one field in the Report Filter section of your Pivot Table. If you use Excel 2003, this section is the Page area of your Pivot Table.

In this lesson, I also demonstrate how to create a Calculated Field for your Pivot Table.

You are correct - while each of the automatically generated worksheets shows the results for the Report Filter Value, this is still a "live" Pivot Table for the entire data set.

If confidentiality is essential, one solution is:
1) Select and Copy each of the Report Filtered Pivot Tables
2) Paste Special Values

Granted, this is no longer a Pivot Table. It is, however, one solution.

In this case, you have copied a Pivot Table and then Pasted the Copy onto the same worksheet - as I demonstrate in this tutorial.

KEY POINT: If you are going to change the dimensions of any of these multiple Pivot Tables, ensure that you have placed sufficient space between the Copies of the Pivot Tables - preferably, BEFORE you paste the compy.
