Stars like the sun, aren’t the only source of light in our galaxy. As we move further away from Earth, our sun becomes just a small point of light. But what could possibly be bigger and hotter than the sun?

Wonders of the Universe (2011)
The universe is almost impossible to comprehend - 13.7 billion years old, 93 billion light years across and filled with over 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars. This series explains the vast phenomena of deep space by re-examining the familiar on Earth.

UY Scuti is a variable hypergiant with a radius around 1, 700 times larger than the radius of the sun. You could fit 5 billion of our suns inside of it. Its photosphere would engulf Jupiter's orbit.
