A popular quote:" When you meet one person with Autism, you’ve met one person with Autism”. Individual differences are very diverse among autistic people

Dr. Murphy understands this kid on a level that the parents and other doctors can never, as an autistic person myself I would feel more comfortable with him as my doctor than anyone else

Fun fact: The autistic patient is actually autistic. He is a well known actor that actually has autism.

Pissed me off because Murphy was the one who figured out what was wrong with their son when none of the other doctors could

God this frustrates me.
I have been working in the shift supervisor position at my current job for about two years now. In the words of my boss, I'm their most experienced and most capable employee.
We got a new employee two months ago who has a non verbal autistic older brother that needs care for other issues.
I mentioned once that I'm on the spectrum and now my coworker undermines everything i say and treats me like I'm incompetent.

Haven't these parents seen all the other shorts of Sean? They must know by now that he always saves the day!

Not all autistic people are the same, both my children are autistic but they are very different in every aspect, just because you have met / know one autistic person it doesn't mean you can judge every other autistic person on that one persons symptoms and behaviours .

The kid put it together and realised that in-order to help a autistic person, get a autistic person

“Shaun’s different” everyone with autism is different, with strengths and weaknesses

The fact that the doc stoof up for Shawn was a bif deal considering how much he bullied him at the beginning cause ge believed the same thing as the parents until Shawn proved him wrong time and time again.

The parents are terrible. They’re putting the same limitations on their son.

I understand the parents but why they have to make their son feel useless 😭

Basically "i dont care what my child wants or if hes comfortable, do whay i say"

You would think that with their son being autistic they would know that people have different support levels and that no one is exactly the same

I know tons of people who would also beeak down under sinilar situations. Autusm is a spectrum, not all people are the same

As an adult who has worked with and has family that is autistic, I can confirm we all have our differences and similarities. Sometimes I don’t fully get what they do but then I remember that I do things that others can’t understand either and it reminds me that we handle the same struggles differently.

The worst thing Good Doctor did was remove Melendez? I never understood it. I loved his character so much 😢

Autism might have several known factors but like everyone else they are individuals. They have their own unique traits and characteristics

I wish I could watch this show on a regular basis and not just these videos shorts, and I'm a nurse. They are trying using fiction of course, to show realistic situations that occur with folks and families were autism is involved, and caregivers as well. Not everybody understands or as well educated on the topic and this show has really brought it to life like no other show I've ever seen. Which is a good thing.

That said for the purposes of making a TV show flow there is a certain amount of creative in artistic license that has to happen. If people could just enjoy the realism and appreciate how much it brings autism to the general public to better understand it, the better that would be. And that includes parents and other caregivers who do stupid things or behave in a way that they think is protective but is not.
