How James Joule Disproved Caloric Theory

Legend has it that James Joule measured the temperature of a waterfall at the top and the bottom while on his honeymoon, and that this data (or the idea behind it at least) helped him to disprove caloric theory and establish the relationship between heat and energy (work).

Now in all its grainy goodness, see some cute kids reenact this epic tale. Note that while the kids were not paid with money, they ate very well while on set.
