While I don't think HK will ever go independence, HK relying China for electricity and water is a myth. Hong Kong is exporting electricity to China, not the other way around. For water, China forced Hong Kong to decomission already-built desalisation plant and barred the government to build anymore plants or water reservoirs, to ensure HK always need to buy water from them. HK has more money than most of the nordics and middle east countries, they can build desalisation plants to supply 10 times the city's population if they want.

I'm really impressed about your knowledge about the history and the current events happening in HK. Even more surprised you made a video of this. Hope the true independence for the Hong Kong people won't take too long!

I support Hong Kong from India 🇮🇳🗿 and i consider it as a separate independent country and their expansion policy in Tibet, India, Phillipines, Vietnam, Japan, etc will be paid with good amount 😶

There’s also the problem of exodus. Half a million residents left HK to Canada and UK alone just for the last 2 years. Not to mention other countries that also loosened immigration controls to HK people. The total figure is expected to reach 1-1.5 million (out of 7 million) before 2025.

The mindset quietly changed because of this.
If you want human rights and democracy, leave.
Stay, you know what to expect.
No one is even speaking up against HK government nowadays anymore.

That's interesting, about the movie work. I was in some movies too, in 1998. No evil for me unfortunately. I lived in HK for much of the 90s.

Most cringe independent movement there is lol, I do support HK independence but using the old British colonial flag as the flag of the movement seems borderline stupid, Especially if you taken into account that HK under British rule aren't that far from CCP rule with freedom of press being restricted and activists being spied on and even jailed under the 'national security law'

does macau have a similar independence movement?

the hong kong independence movement needs to use a different flag. using the british flag for hong kong makes the tug of war look like foreign interference and neo-colonialism.

conveniently refuses to talk about the 99 year lease of the New Territories.

This place was part of Qing China and Britain took it after the Opium Wars. Just because Hong Kong was colonised by Britain doesn’t mean that it should be a colony. If only people knew how a colony was a colony they would’ve just stopped

The truth is your channel wont grow, take my word for it. You can basically make 6 billion videos on why this place or that place is unique and therefore should be independent eg take Africa with millions of distinct ethnic groups within each country. it just isn't a YouTube algorithm favourite. at most you will continue getting your little views from a fringe group of people who like comic books and alternative universes.
