Alamere Falls SHORT CUT

Beautiful day to be out here at Alamere Falls located in Marin County, California. A waterfall that flows right into the Ocean. 13.8 miles out and back but..... if you take the short cut like me, might save you a couple miles although this trail is still beautiful all the way through. My total estimate hike miles was about 6 miles out & back.

I remember having to help a lady that got stuck there. I went first and she basically climb on top of me to get off the cliffs.

Saw a few vids that the shortcut has a different post marker for the shortcut but someone keeps removing them. I went couple weeks ago and there were no marker.

Have friends going today. It's their 1st time going there & I don't want them use shortcut path going there or coming back...

Even many people do use shortcut path...

I don't want them doing it. Rather they be safe & not worry about distance they may save...

Thumbs down for the fact that the National Forest service has stated to all entering tourists that this shortcut causes coastal erosion. So the trail that those who walked it before, shortcut or not, may have to tack on more miles in the future because of the abuse committed by these “shortcutters”. ‘Leave no trace’ doesn’t just mean bag your trash, it also means respect nature’s course in a way that the NFS permits it.
