In a deeply reflective interview with India Today, Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairperson of the Aditya Birla Group, paid tribute to industrial giant Ratan Tata, stating that 'Tata's legacy as a humanitarian will actually be larger than his legacy as an industrialist'. Birla reflected upon the intimate bonds between the Tata and Birla families, likening their relationship to that of 'siblings' with 'inextricably linked' fortunes. Discussing Tata's penchant for philanthropy, Birla highlighted Tata's significant but silent contributions to society. #kumarmangalambirla #ratantata #ratantatafuneral #itwebvideos #rahulkanwal #indiatoday

This shows how Ratan Tata put emotions first and gave people friendship and understanding first and foremost regardless of their social class. This endeared him to all. Business came after this.

Ratan Tatasb. was a man without parallel. Epitome of humility, humbleness and simplicity. Set new never heard of bench mark of ethical standards of doing business by setting the acid test in the eyes and minds of the counter parties.
I Had opportunity to meet and interact with the rooted to ground inspiring personality with an unexplainable halo and towering yet kind and empathic presense in many dealer meets which he would religiously attend to host a dinner for dealers and made it a point to interact with all, staying with the fraternity all the evening and addressing it in his typical laid back inimitable style, sharing his experiences and wisdom and taking a question answer session with elan and sometimes with a touch of humour and a naughty twinkle in his eyes when a dealer brother would pose an awkward question. His presence of mind and his repartee was remarkable and so was the band width of his knowledge and his ability to explain complex subjects in simple easy to understand ways. I can never forget a lunch hosted by him at Lake House Pune when he intermingled informally with every one during buffet like a host to his immidiate family members.
I have always missed in dealer meets his towering yet benign presence and that half smile always adorning his face after his retirement from active business. Passanger cars were his passion and it's dealers near to his heart, so much so that the final vetting and approval of first set of dealers was done in his office.
If I look back at my twenty five years with TML, the most invaluable earning has been the chance to see, feel the noble souls hand shake and his soothing presence.
He was a hermit in a businessman's garb. Attached yet detached. Firm and fair. Un compromising on core principals yet flexible. Prepared to take a challenge and see it through. A visionary and nationalist and philanthropist without compare.
Heart feel heavy and sad on the passing away of the noble soul which will remain immortally etched in the minds of all who knew him.
Words are not enough to pay homage to him.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Can big groups like Tata and Birla do something for Indian students studying internationally about helping them grow professionally? Also do they think it is a good idea to do this to promote professionals to come back and work in India
