You know the medic thing isn't as big of a deal as you make it out to be. Strip them and your officer of ammo and you'll be able to find them. Keep them down and away from the bulk of infantry and you can call them in as you get a chance that's clear. If your memory is worth a damn and one goes down you can retrieve the bag and you've got another medic. It's just another aspect of the game to master.

I'm surprised that Hungarian troops got a strong kit. In reality, their boots had cardboard sole(!) and they had poor equipment. The Soviets broke through them first after the Stalingrad counter offensive, and could circle around many axis troops. It didn't help the situation that the Germans expected them to hold a really long frontline though
