Hello everyone, Thank you for your ideas and input to this video Just to be clear Phramaha Bhatsakorn Piyobhaso is saying that Buddhists believe in 'Small g' gods (he is referring to spirits or devas from the higher realms) rather than a creator God . Buddha does not confirm or deny a creator God, but it is not central to the Philosophy of Buddhism. That is our interpretation. Thanks, Peace!

As a Japanese Buddhist, I can tell you that although Buddhism has been forcibly classified as a religion, it is a means to an approach that belongs to philosophy and self-realization. Buddhism is not a belief in a specific god, but a practical wisdom for exploring the unknown self as taught by the Buddha.

As a Buddhist, I think it’s different from my understanding.Buddhist doesn’t care whether there is god or no god. Buddha denied begging or praying to any god.

I'm from a Sikh background and this is a similarity. God/the divine energy/the one is in all things following a panentheistic view. Respect

It is my understanding that Buddhists believe in a higher self as GOD, an inner spiritual GOD made of pure energy and love. Not an external GOD that looks like a man and is wrathful or unforgiving.

Whether God exists or not does not matter to Buddhists . What matters is how to live a truly happy life.

In Bengali, there are two terms, dev-devis and iswar. What he said is about dev-devis, but there is a supreme iswar. We should believe him/her.

What he means is that Buddhism doesn't consider belief or disbelief in God a question worthy of answer. By Gods, he is referring to Dieties

I live LA and I've asked 2 Buddhists if they believe in one Supreme power or a God and they said yes. However they could have misunderstood my question.

In the Buddhist Cosmography, The six realms of Buddhism is divided into Gods, Titans, Humans, Animals, Hungry Ghosts and Beings of hell. The main Buddhist prayer has six syllables, Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hung. When you recite this prayer, you are basically praying for all the beings in this realm to break the cycle of rebirth and attain nirvana - This is just what i read in a book recently.

I'm theravada buddhist and was taught buddhism from childhood. So buddha said there were gods. We should wish them merits whenever we participated in a good deed . But we don't worship gods aiming the nirwana.

Did I understood well? According to Buddhists there is God ( one creator of all) and gods ( something like diety ) ? Correct me if I wrongly understood.

In the Karandavyuha Sutra, it says that Avalokitesvara is the creator of Earth, that the sun and the moon came from his eyes, wind from his mouth, earth from his feet and water from his body. I have never heard this mentioned anywhere else in the whole religion, does anyone know about this? I find this very strange since apparently Buddhism has no creator god
