The incredible tale about the fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter; a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist, Dr. Godwin Baxter.

A quote comes to my mind, seeing the (to me surprising) divide of reactions to this movie: “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” Consider me comforted.

As a loveable nymphomaniac with poor motor-coordination skills and a heart of gold, it's really nice to get some media representation.

Honestly Mark Ruffalo's character may be one of my favourite performances I've seen in recent years. Hysterical

There’s a lot to admire about this film. Original, singular, and entertaining. Stone is incredible.

This film had an almost magic effect on me. I left genuinely feeling uplifted, it sort of addresses the deepest parts of being and I felt glad to be alive. All from a film that is deeply silly, this is an amazing achievement.

It makes me so happy knowing Mark has seen this thing three times. He really loves movies.

Honestly, They could have called this movie "Forest Hump". Seriously though, I absolutely loved it. One of the funniest, weirdest, thought provoking, most beautiful film to watch I've seen in quite some time

The moment with the duck/dog in the black white sequence early on reminded me of David Lynch’s PlayStation commercial. If you haven’t seen it, seek it out!

Lanthimos is such a fantastic director, he hasn't missed yet imo. Dogtooth is a masterpiece, very excited to see this

Emma Stone has a fantastic fabulous agent and team- one of the most exciting back catalogues for an actress still so young. She is brilliant in this. Absolutely deserving of any awards that come her way. And seems so down to earth, too.

Loved every minute of it. Brilliant cast, story, plot, etc. Spat popcorn everywhere...several times.

This film will be held up as a ‘classic’ in years to come. Probably the best film of this decade so far in my view. Wildly unique and inventive, stunning to look at, brilliant performances, laugh out loud funny, constantly surprising, works on various levels, etc etc. Anyone with a love of cinema will be wowed by it!

Interesting commentary by Kermode on Poor Things the novel. Never knew that it was allegorical to Scotland's relationship to Britain. Makes sense, though, considering the writer.

Poor Things is a stunning film. A genuinely immersive film with powerful messages wrapped up in a bonkers & beautiful bow. Emma Stone deserves an Oscar for this film. This is 5 🌟 all the way!!

The score alone is a barn buster, up there with The Boy and the Heron for me. 2023 ruled!

Totally agree, had no idea what was going on at the start and then I couldn't stop laughing. Ruffalo's performance is comedy gold.

Mark articulated his thoughts so well on this. I loved this movie as well, I don’t think everyone will appreciate its specific humour, but it definitely hit for Mark 😀

Best movie I've seen in the last year. As soon as I saw the mixed up animals, "God" doing bubble burps and then the music - I was sold. My kind of movie. And then, the sets! Wow. And then Emma Stone. Sensational and so brave. And then some of the camera shots reminded me a bit of David Lynch, another wow. I know it's not for everyone and some will hate it but for me - sublime entertainment, funny, thought provoking, memorable. Have watched it twice already!

It reminded me of a Peter Greenaway/Baron Munchausen/Eraserhead combo. I enjoyed the richness of the visual detail and the madness of the story.
